New work added, do take a look. I will be in a show with some of my fellow graduate students at the Shift Space in Wichita. The show opens on February 29th and goes on for three weeks.
Also, Amy and I (well, mostly Amy) have been involved with a blog, called Artnicks. We post info about cool artists we like, gallery shows, and artists' opportunities across the country.
If you live in Kansas City, stop by the Paragraph Gallery (23 E. 12th Street) to see the exhibiton of Christa Dalien's work which opens on February 15th. Christa has recently completed her MFA at the University of Kansas. Her strange art centers around tree girls and the yetty encounters.

I added some new images in the "Work" section, do take a look. Also I am going to be in a two-person show with my wife Amy at the Wooltex Gallery in Cleveland, Ohio. The show starts on September 7th and runs until October 16th. We will be showing our new paintings created in the last year or so. Both Amy's and mine work has changed quite a bit, I hope for the better... In other news I have two more years of graduate school to complete. So far it has been going well, keep tuned in for more new work.

Please visit www.jaimekennedy.com to see the graduate thesis show of my friend Jaime. At one point I shared a studio with him, his girlfriend painter Kelly Urquhart and my then girlfriend Amy. Since then his art and his work ethics have been an inspiration for me. I personally think he's one of the best artists working today in Ohio.

An interesting show is opening on Sunday, May 7th at Convivium33 gallery here in Cleveland. It's titled "7 sins 7 artists". Each artist in the show has made 2 pieces based on one specific sin. I was given "Anger". The show is curated by Doug Utter. It's good to mention that the gallery space in an old renovated church - St. Josaphat's. The place is really beautiful and if you don't even want to see the art, you should check out the space. Here's the link: http://josaphatartshall.com/gallery/

Check out "3 Artists - Amathin, Amy Casey and Liz Maugans" show opening this Friday March 3rd at the E. Gordon Gallery. My Amy the Amathin is in the show and her work looks spectacular. If you're into the surreal, meaningful and symbolic art this one is not to be missed!
See Amy's web site for more info and the artist statement.

There was a mention of my solo show at E. Gordon Gallery (Feb. 2005) in the Friday Magazine. That was a pleasant surprise. Happy New Year to all of you out there.
Here are some new(old) pieces for your viewing pleasure...

If you get a chance, check out "Making Eye Contact: Expressive Portraits in the 21st Century" at the Notre Dame College in Cleveland, located off of Green road. I don't think it's going to get much publicity but it's definitely a worthy show to see. Work by Doug Utter, Anna Arnold, Steve Ziebarth and Baila Litton. Oh, and me. The show is on view till December 8th.
Also, I will be participating in a group exhibit at Studio16 in Columbus, titled "Northern Edge" with 28 (!) other cleveland artists. Curated by Mark Yasenchack, it's promising to be an exciting show. Amathin (who some of you may know as my domestic partner) will also be in the show. Don't miss the opportunity to snatch some of her art (while supply lasts)!
And last but not least, Primary Space's "Wish You Were Here" is coming up on December 3rd. If you needed a reason for visiting Detroit - here you go.

Gallery West at Tri-C is exhibiting "Bones of Contention" - a group show of Cleveland-area artists dealing with representation and symbolism of skeletons and bones in their art. I haven't seen the entire show yet but it's promising to be good, check it out if you're on that side of town. I have one small piece in that show. Also on view in their main gallery is "Tierra Madura," with Augusto Bordelois and Angelica Pozo. Augusto is an Cuban artist, whose paintings i really enjoy.

I added a page for the links. Hopefully with time, that section will expand a little. Also, be on the lookout for the following group shows in the upcoming months - "Postcard Show" (December, 2005) at Primary Space in Detroit, and "Making Eye Contact" (November, 2005) at Notre Dame College, here in Cleveland. Yours truly shall be in both of them.
